Reasons to attend.
FE colleges provide an alternative curriculum to seriously disaffected and underachieving young people. The facilities and expertise available at colleges means that these students can follow relevant and valuable courses. However, this creates a challenge for lecturers in FE who are not specifically trained to teach pre-16 students. Delegates are introduced to ‘best practice’ so that they can be more confident and learn effective strategies to develop the potential of these students.
