The aims of the course:

  • To raise awareness of individual and whole college responsibilities required by the Disability Discrimination Act
  • To develop good practice in teaching and supporting students

Widening Participation and Inclusive Education policies are bringing learners with a wide
Range of needs into the F E colleges. This is yet another challenge to staff who are expected
to make and effective response to the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.

This course is aimed at those staff with limited or no experience of students with disabilities
and learning difficulties, who may be responsible for curriculum management, delivery or
supporting learning in a cross-college service.
