Reasons to attend.
This course explains the fair ways to deal with cases of misconduct and capability and how to decide which it is. In some cases it's a fine line between negligence and incapability - we look at the differences and how to decide which procedure is the right one. The most difficult part of a managers job is to deal with disciplinary issues - the balancing act of being fair to students and staff and sometimes finding it unbelievable that people you know and work with have behaved in a way you wouldn't think possible for them! When a member of staff is trying very hard to do the job but is not getting any better there comes a point when you need to use formal procedures to improve the situation, this course will help you to decide when to enter these procedures and how to put together a support programme to help improvement - before it's too late.
