Reasons to attend.
Media Studies has been phenomenally popular in sixth forms and colleges up and down the country. This popularity is continued into Higher Education. However, very few teachers have been formally trained to teach in this subject area and many more feel unprepared to initiate it. This course will provide the essential starting points to anyone introducing the subject. It will outline the core elements of media study and practical production and will advise on the construction of programmes of learning across a range of courses and syllabuses. As far as possible it will attempt to enable 'hands-on' experience of teaching Media Studies and make space for discussion and planning.
