Reasons to attend.
The course is designed to assist colleges in examining their 16-19 full-time and part-time provision at Levels 1 and 2, following the probable withdrawal of Foundation and Intermediate GNVQs in 2003/2004. At Key Stage 4, schools will be introducing the new Double Award GCSEs to replace GNVQs but this will not be suitable for students who have already undertaken one or more Double Award GCSEs? How can colleges improve the retention and progression opportunities for the student C/D GCSE student? What kinds of programmes are likely to be offered by the Awarding Bodies to fill this gap? This course is suitable for Assistant Principals/Directors Curriculum, Heads of Faculty or Department and any Lecturer who is concerned about addressing progression and retention issues in colleges.
